The inaugural Patient Safety Technology Innovation Award was awarded at this year’s South by Southwest (SXSW) Innovation Awards on March 13, 2023.

The International Virtual Reality Healthcare Association (IVRHA) hosted a Patient Safety Technology Challenge, announcing the winning teams March 5.

The final pitch of the Hollomon Health Innovation Challenge, hosted at the University of Washington, was held March 2, 2023 and included a Patient Safety Technology Challenge award.

TreeHacks was held at Stanford University February 17-19, 2023 and included a BIG IDEA award for Best Technology-Enabled Patient Safety Solution.

The Data Science Hackathon was an all-day event held on campus at Columbia University on Saturday, February 11, 2023 and included a BIG IDEA: Patient Safety Technology Award.

TAMUhack at Texas A&M University hosted their annual hackathon, the largest student-run hackathon in the region, on January 28-29, 2023 and this year included a Best of Patient Safety Tech award sponsored by the Patient Safety Technology Challenge.

The Patient Safety Technology Challenge sponsored Columbia-CareOne’s 2022 Healthcare Innovation Challenge on December 7, 2023 and established a “At-large Patient Safety Tech” prize of $10,000.

The Pitt Challenge 2022 had 320 registered participants pitching solutions that spanned the spectrum of health care.
